I have some locked files I want to delete, one is a ppt presentation.
Can't even put it in the trash without unlocking it. Powerpoint help
says "clip the lock button again" to ulock, but I don't see any
icon!!!!! I also have a text edit locked file which I can't unlock.
Thanks.
This depends on which Mac OS version you are using, but in the version I
have, I can select a file, choose Get Info from the File menu, and under
the General section, look for the check box marked Locked. Uncheck that and
you should be good to go.

David-
Thanks for your reply. I saw some similar advice you gave in another
post. When I open the ppt, I don't have a "get info" choice in the
file menu. I am running 10.4.6. Other thoughts?

That's your mistake. Don't open the PPT. Just click on it to select it.
This is a Mac OS thing, not a PPT thing. If you are in PPT, you are in
the wrong place. You need to be in the Finder with the file selected but
not open.
