Hi everyone, I've got a powerpoint file with three slides in it. When I go to the view menu and choose "master" and then either "Slide" or "Title", I see the master pages for the first two pages but there's a third page in the file which is obviously based on a master (it seems to be a variation on page 2 slide master) but this doesn't appear in the master pages for me to edit. Can someone tell me why this might be happening or how I can edit this third master page? Thanks for any help offered. Title Slides are based on the Title Master, all others are based on the Slide Master - IOW, ther is not a master for each slide. If you have a third slide in the file, the first is probably a Title Slide based on the Title Master & the 2nd & 3rd are based on the Slide Master. If the 3rd slide appears to be differently formatted than the 2nd one or the other has been directly changed to be different from what the Slide Master calls for. PPt on the PC does allow for multiple masters, but the Mac version doesn't... although I seem to recall a posting some time ago for getting something similar. I mean the fact that I can't do this made me think it must have it's contents including images on a master page, but as I said when I view the slide master this image is not there and I can't select it directly on the page. That helps a lot - Perhaps it was added as a Slide Background applied to that slide only (Format>Slide Background - click the list below the preview & select Fill Effects, then go to the Picture page. If that's it, go back to the initial Slide Background list & choose 'Automatic' or some other background fill. Thanks, that was it but how would I actually save the graphic that's included in the background. I mean when I was viewing the slide master and title master pages I was able to control click on the image and then save it to my desktop to do further work on it in another program. Doing exactly as you have done if the original image file is not available. When you specify a picture to be used as a Background it is copied into the PPt file as an embedded object. If you take the PPt to a different location without taking the background image file the copy in your PPt is all you have to work with. If you have the original image file (or separate copy of same) you could modify it in a graphics app, then insert a copy of the revised file in place of the original background image. As I said when I go into the Format > Slide Background Dialogue there is no way for me to access the image file. All it shows is a thumbnail. The file's obviously not embedded on the slide itself or I would have been able to select it and copy it to the clipboard etc. I can't access this file anywhere from within PowerPoint it seems. In the presentation, create a new slide with the background you want and nothing else on it (or clear the existing slide). Then, go to File > Save As. Choose to save the file as a JPEG. Then, click the "Options" button. Under "Save slides as graphics files", click the radio button for "Save current slide only". You may also want to increase the image size or DPI; the file size will become larger, but the quality of the image will be better. Then, click OK, and save the file.
