You could try the Windows Media Components for Quicktime
(http://www.flip4mac.com/download.htm). I'm not sure that will work but
it's worth a try (and free).

The free version works great for playing files, but only the for-charge
version will allow you to convert windows media files to quicktime. So
you'll have to pay up if you want to use those .wmv files in your powerpoint
shows.
