Hi,
I've created a slide show on my G4 for a co-worker using a PC.  It's pretty
simple - it consists of 13 slides with shapes, text and images (png's and
jpegs). When I send it to him and he opens it, it's 13 slides of nothing,
just the slide bkg image.  We're both running the newest versions of PPT on
new computers...any help is appreciated!

Sarah.

Hi Sarah,

The "latest version" would be PowerPoint 2004 for Mac and PowerPoint
2003 for Windows.

The next question is, have the latest updates for the latest versions
been installed?

On the Mac in Finder use GetInfo on the PowerPoint icon and you will see
Version 11.2.3 if the Mac is up to date.

On windows, use Internet Explorer (no other browser) to check for
available updates by going to this URL
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

Try your Mac created presentation on a different PC.  It will probably
be fine. Most likely your friend's PC needs to have updates installed.

I had the same problem, but only on one slide. The funny thing is I
never even saved while I was working on the Mac. I made the
presentation on a PC, opened it on the Mac, went back to the PC because
PowerPoint 2004 annoys the living daylights out of me, and when I
opened the file up in PowerPoint 2003 slide 7 was blank. I tried the
Mac again and it was right there. I made a duplicate of the slide and
they were both blank on the PC. I copied and pasted the individual
items to a new slide and that new slide was blank on the PC. I pasted
the information into a Word document and that document wouldn't even
open on a PC. What in the world is wrong? I can save other documents in
Word 2004 and open them in Word 2003. I can see most of the slides in
PowerPoint 2003. I really don't understand, and it makes me not want to
use this product. I have the very latest updates off of the support
center as well.

Is there a safe way to make presentations on a Mac that will always
survive going back to a PC? Despite the many things I hate about PPoint
2004 compared to PPoint 2003 I really could use the fact that I can
actually see two presentations open at the same time! Let me know if
you have any ideas.

If you haven't already done so, you'll want to do Help, Check for Updates and let
MS have its way with your copy of PowerPoint 2003 on the Windows box.
