Hello
I have been working on a PowerPoint presentation for 11 hours, with autosave
every 10 minutes, then at the last save the file was corrupted and it will
no longer open. Thus I have lost one day¹s work.
I was working on a Mac using Panther. Is there any way I can access any
temporary file (normally invisible) in case there is another file (a sort of
backup) which I may be able to recover some of the work I have lost.
It is a pity that PowerPoint does not have a backup facility as Word (and
Quark) does.
I have been using PowerPoint for over decade on both Macs and PCs and this
is the first time that a file has corrupted on me.
Thanks for any help

Hi Sol -
*Please*, for your own protection, reread the PowerPoint>Preferences>Save
dialog & research it in Help for further details.
The feature is "Save *AutoRecover* Info", NOT AutoSave - they are 2
completely separate & distinct functions. AFAIK, none of the Office apps
(Win or Mac) any longer have an automatic save feature.
