Hi Davey-
Text in PPt is contained within placeholders or AutoShapes (such as text
boxes, circles, etc.). The highlight color of selected text is determined by
_both_ the text color & the fill color of the container. If you have a text
box with no fill layered on top of a black background the program is not
aware of the background because it is a separate object.
Try changing the fill color of the text container to match that of the
underlying background & see if that doesn't make a difference.
