Export FROM PowerPoint TO Quicktime - bad results

Hello there  :-)

I'm working on a MAC OSX G5 with Microsoft Office 2004 (PowerPoint has
been updated as well...)

A cleint sent me a PPT-File and asked me to put it on a DVD.
My idea was to export it as a Quicktime (720 x 576 Pixels) and
then use Compressor to render it to a MPEG2 so that I could
carry on in DVDStudioPro to finally create a DVD.

But the Qicktime exported from PowerPoint has a really bad quality
(especially in pictures with gradients you can clearly see hard
color edges or color banding and pixel-blocks...)

I went on some web sites regarding some infos on exporting
from PowerPoint to Quicktime and used exactly those
recommended settintgs....no difference; it still looks terrible.

And some PowerPoint-transitions and -animations don't display
correctly when viewed in the exported Quicktime-file
and get represented by a red cross!!!

What is happening here?
Are there some limitations to PowerPonit's Quicktime-exports?
!!!! When I play the PPT-File out of PowerPoint on my Mac it looks OK
!!!!

I would be really glad for some infos to this problem...

Thanks a lot   :-)

Greetings,

Steven R.

Hi,

The Save As QuickTime feature works OK most of the time, but if it is
not doing the trick for you I can think of two options.

I've had very good results using Impatica
http://www.impatica.com/

Another option is to use SnapZ to capture the screen as you play the
presentation:
