There was a thread on this error a while back but this is a different
issue.

I create a bar graph in a presentaion on a PC (XP SP2) with PPT 2002; open
it on a Mac with any version (98, X, 2004); make a change to the graph;
save; open the file on the PC; try to edit the graph; I get the above
message.

I tested on two PCs and three Macs so It should not be an installation or
permission problem.

I suspect it has to do with incompatibility between the versions of Graph
on the PC and Mac. Any solutions or work-arounds?

I just tried this with PPTXP on the PC, PPT X on Mac and didn't run into any
problems.

But I don't know what types of edits you made, so maybe that has something to
do with it. I changed a data value or two and changed the color of the plot
area before saving again.
