PPT Update Problem

I'm running Office X under Mac OS 10.3.9 on a MDD DP G4.

I just installed the Office 10.1.6 Update.

When I attempt to open any PowerPoint presentation created with the
10.1.5 version, it refuses to open with the following error message:
PowerPoint cannot read Macintosh HD:Users:gene:desktop:Test.ppt.

Is there a fix for this problem or should I just revert to 10.1.5?

TIA

G

Hi,

Did you run Apple's Disk Utility to repair permissions after you did the
update?  Try that and let us know how it went.

Thanks Jim ... that's the first thing that I did. It didn't do anything
to help.

I've had this happen too. I found that I could fix the file by saving
it in Powerpoint 2001. I chose to fix Powerpoint by going back to
10.1.5.
