Custom Shows

I set up a custom show in my main presentation and when I run the slide
show I want to be able to exit out of the custom show portion at any
time without having to run the whole custom show. Is there a way to do
this? I have tried putting text hyperlinks on each of the pages in the
custom show to get back to the original slide in the main presentation,
and the hyperlinks do work to get back to the slide I want but when I
click the mouse or arrow key to move onto the next slide in the main
presentation it goes to the next slide in the custom show again.

The other problem with the custom show is that when I get to the end of
my presntation it doesn't stop at what should be the last slide, it
continues and shows the custom show slides. I thought if this set of
slides were designated as a custom show that they were only supposed to
show up where you want them to.

The only work around that I found was to create a second presentation,
instead of a custom show, and hyperlink the slide in my main
presentation to the second presentation. I can hit the escape key to
return to my main presentation and continue with the main show but the
transition from one show to the next is very abrupt and not very smooth
looking.

If anyone has any ideas I'd sure like to hear them. I'm working on a
Mac G4 running OS 10.2.8 and using PowerPoint 2004 v.11.1.1.

Thanks, Susan

Here are some possible answers.

Set the slides in the custom show to be hidden. I believe (but am not
certain) that they will not be shown in the regular course of the
presentation but will be shown when you link to the custom show.

When linking to the custom show, be sure that the link is set to show and
return. Then, when you Escape out of the custom show or click on a button
hyperlinked to End Show, you will be taken back where you started.
