I have put together a PowerPoint presentation consisting of about 15 slides. On each slide clicking a picture of me produces a sentence I recorded (in French - yes, I'm a French teacher!). I now want to re-use the presentation (doing a 'Save As') but with a different series of slides and sentences. To save memory, how can I delete the sounds I recorded for the first presentation? Noel Bailey Just a guess, but if you select an image and go to Slide Show>Action Settings there will probably be a check in the box for Play sound:, open the list & choose [No Sound]. Depending on how the file was put together, you may have to do this on each image that produces a sound. It is also possible that a different technique was used. I now realise that the best way to achieve what I need is to just copy one slide (rather than the whole presentation) and create a new presentation rather than doing a 'Save As'. That way only the sound associated with that slide gets copied to the new presentation. I can get away with this because just about all the slides in the presentation use the same format / sequence / animations etc. - only the text and the sounds are different from slide to slide. However, if that were not the case and I had needed to do a 'Save As' to create a new presentation, then all the sounds that I had recorded for the original presentation would still be there, so the 'new' presentation would be almost twice the size as the original! My query is, how would I get rid of them? Where are they stored? Noel Bailey To the best of my knowledge the embedded sounds are essentially "attached" to the slide in the presentation file. There should be a small Speaker icon on the slide that represents the sound. It may be covered by something else, such as a picture or other graphic object. If you have trouble finding it use Cmd+a (select all), which should make it easier to find. Once you locate the icon, select it and press Delete. As I understand it, that should be the only thing necessary to remove an embedded sound. Good Luck |:>) |
