Walstreet Hard Drive Suggestions

I've had a Toshiba 60GAS drive in my wallstreet for almost two years now.  It
is very quiet, but lately has been acting up (unable to read/write) when the
machine is used hard and the temperature gets very high.

Is this a failing of the Toshiba product line, or is the higher capacity
drawing enough power (rated at 2.3W) to increasing heat to an unhealthy
level?

I'm in the market for a new drive, what is the latest scoop?  Looks like
Toshiba still sells the same drive and there are offerings from Hitachi/IBM
and fujistu.  I moved away from IBM years ago becaise of noise and
reliability problems. Anyone know off hand the lowest power 40 gig and above
drive?

Thanks

Heat ages things.  The inside of a laptop is fairly warm.

You are what you eat, therefore, I'm a vegetable!  Cows and chickens
and Pop Tarts are too.
