I noticed that I have hair line cracks in the piece that supports my hinges above the keyboard. The hair line cracks are by both hinges. Googling 'powerbook hinge cracks' yielded this page: http://geekspeak.org/articles/powerbook_ti_repair/ A repair not for the fainthearted. In the meantime, use a Torx T-8 screw driver to loosen the hinges so there is less stress on them, but not so loose the screen flops. --Fred |
