I replaced a broken hinge and now Lombardi won't go to sleep when I shut the
lid.  I tried changing the inverter board and resetting the power manager. I was
wondering exactly where the reed switch is and if there might be something I
haven't tried.

Which hinge? IIRC, the reed switch on the Lombard sits by the RS hinge,
and if you disturbed it it might no longer be behaving properly.

Thanks. I changed the left hinge (looking at the screen) but I must have
disturbed the one on the right.

Well, I dunno about "must have" but it's a possibility. Since the reed
switch is activated by a magnet, you might be able to diagnose it with a
slightly more powerful magnet (e.g., you put the magnet in the place
where the switch is, and see if the switch itself is functioning). Check
the archives here for info on the reed switches, ISTR that there were
some discussions about them getting disturbed and what you could do
about it.
