Is the computer really "seeing" the card? There are some PC cards that
go into a Mac and are "seen" but are unable to be used. Check Network
Preferences and see if there's actually a wireless port active there.

Jim-
"Plus" is not an industry standard, but it should be backward compatible
with 802.11b and g.
If you go to Network System Preferences and set it to Show: AirPort, what
do you see? If you can't do that, then the card is not being recognized
as an AirPort card. If you can, you should be able to set it up for
DHCP. By setting it to Show AirPort status in menu bar, you have a quick
way to turn the card on and off, and to select which base station to
connect to.
If it is not recognized as AirPort, then you need a driver. Whoever
recommended that card for your computer may also have mentioned where a
driver can be found. The first place to check is the CD that came with
it, and then the Belkin web site. Other possibilities include Sourceforge
and IOExperts.

I know .11g+ isn't a standard, but that is how the box is labeled. Could
be just marketing, but on the same shelf I found a .11g and a .11g+ card
from Belkin.
That card was supposed to work with Airport software 3.1 or later. The
CD would be useless as it only had Windows drivers. Any card using the
"Broadcom" chipset should work anyhoo. Now there are issues with the
Belkin F5D7010. Only the 1000 and 2000 version are supposed to work.
Other series use a different chipset. The F5D7011 was supposed to work
fine with Panther through Tiger.
I did go to network status and it showed Airport to be active yet not
connecting to any network. I gave up and returned the card. Instead I
got a Windows Linksys PC card, also a .11g. So far so good, it worked as
soon as I plugged it in! Now currently I can't use my card to it's full
potential networking with my other Macs, but I plan to upgrade to a .11g
router as soon as I have the money.

Here is a list of PC wireless cards compatible with Macs using Airport
and drivers supplied by third parties:
