I have a newish G4 iBook, and a 300GB Maxtor OneTouch. I've partitioned
it in 2 sections (backup/data) HFS+ Extended.
I have no problems with it in USB mode. I run SuperDuper without any
problems.
However, no matter what I do, and which cables I use, I cannot get
Firewire to work.
I've tested with 2 different 6/6 cables, no dice. However, when I run
System Profiler, it does recognize something, but lists it as "unknown
device".
Like I said, it works fine in USB mode, but I'd like to be able to boot
from it.
Have any of you had similar problems, and if so, did you ever find a
solution?
Tks

I don't use the one-touch feature, but I have no problem copying files
to my 250GB Maxtor drive via a firewire cable. If you have not do so,
check Maxtor's web site in the support or knowledgebase sections to see
if a solution to your problem can be found, or try contacting their tech
support to request assistance.
