iPod remote male to dock connector male adapter

Has anyone seen or know if anyone is working on an adapter from the iPod
remote connector to dock connector?  Here's my problem.  I have a Burton
Shield iPod jacket.  The connection from the coat to the iPod is done
through the remote connection on the 3G and 4g iPods.  The new 5G models
and Nano do not have this connection.  Everything is done through the
dock connector.  Someone will need to develop an adapter that allows
older equipment (like my ancient 2006 jacket) to work with the newer
iPods.  Looks like something for Belkin, SendStation or Xtrememac to
develop.

What brought this all to light was that my 4G 20GB died this week and I
started looking at using the Nano I bought my wife for Xmas.  No soap.
Lucked out though, TechRestore.com was able to fix mine for $59.  Turns
out the drive cable was bad.

Carl,

Would you believe that just a few minutes ago I posted an almost identical
query.  I have just purchased an iPod nano and a Bose SoundDock.
Unfortunately if one "skins" the iPod with one of numerous "coats" it will no
longer slip into the dock of the SoundDock. What's needed is a short cable
with the proper male and female connectors. So, hopefully there is someone
out there that makes one!

Jim,
Actually I just answered your question in an earlier news group before I
got to this newsgroup.  I think we're asking about two different types
of adapter.  The "old" iPod remotes, FM repeaters and my Burton jacket
plug into the top of the iPod using the headphone jack and a small 4 pin
connector that resides next to it.  I'd like to find some sort of
adapter that would allow you to plug in the male portion (1/8 headphone
jack and the 4 pin male) into the dock connector on the bottom.  Your
Bose SoundDock already has the male dock connector, it sounds like you
need some sort of extension.  If you see my post in hardware.misc, I
suggested you use one of the larger iPod adapters that came with the
SoundDock and do a little corrective surgery to the plastic part.

I'll be at MacWorld in two weeks, I plan to search the floor for what
I'm looking for.  I also sent an email directly to SendStation.
