Hi all,

Yesterday i decided to update the track listing on my ipod shuffle,
however when inserted the computer proceeded to 'format' the shuffle
(ie removing all tracks that were on there) for some unknown reason.
Hence meaning that i have to rip all my cd's again.

Can i ask why did it do this (i clicked cancel when it asked for an
update) and what are the chances of it doing it again?

Thanks,

Def

It probably did this because it thought it was being synced to a
different iTunes music library (i.e. different computer or different
account). Was it?

Hi Steven,

No the ipod shuffle has only been used on one computer (which has not
been formatted since first installing the ipod shuffle software). I am
thinking perhaps the itunes software automatically updated the
firmware, as that should remove present files on it. Though i am sure
you have to download the update in the first place
