Hi all
I am trying to creat a cheat sheet for my dad for an old iBook computer
I am giving him for his birthday. I was hoping to be able to print our
screen shots, not just documents, e-mails, or web pages. This means
being able to include tools bars or menus. Please reply if you know of
way to do this.
Thanks
Michael

The most painless way is to type cmd-ctrl-shift-4, drag the cursor
through the area you want to screen shot. That loads the clipboard up
with an image.
From there the easiest next step is to make GraphicConverter the
current application and type cmd-j, which creates an image file from
the clipboard. You can save it in whatever format you choose.
If you do not have GraphicConverter, then you can do something similar
with Preview, but with a more limited set of output formats. Type cmd-n
there to create a new file from clipboard.
If you are still on OS9, GC works the same, but of course you don't
have Preview.
GC can be gotten from http://www.lemkesoft.de it is probably the best
bit of shareware you will ever buy.

If the OP is using Tiger, cmd-shift-4 is enough to save the selection as
a PNG file. If you have TinkerTool installed, you can change the image
type one of several others.

In OS X, there's a program called Grab in Applications/Utilities.

Sure.
cmd-shift-3 takes a screenshot and saves it to "Picture 1.png" on your desktop.
Double clicking it would open it in preview and from there you can print it.
cmd-shift-4 will give you a crosshair to select areas (hitting space after
you've invoked this mode will highlight specific objects when the mouse passes
over them) and the result will be also be saved to the desktop.
If you want to work with the images on a graphics app and not save them to the
desktop, press ctrl along with any of the above.
So, in short:
cmd-shift-3 = entire desktop to file
cmd-shift-4 = portion of desktop to file
cmd-shift-4 and then hit space = object to file
ctrl-cmd-shift-3 = entire desktop to clipboard
ctrl-cmd-shift-4 = portion of desktop to clipboard
ctrl-cmd-shift-4 and then hit space = object to clipboard
