That's totally up to you. Here are my opinions:

check the recent archives. We've done this one in the last 30 days,
IIRC. For that matter, you could look even further back. The general
advice (given in most of the "when should I buy a new xyzbook?" threads
in the last 4 years or so) holds true today:
1. only Apple knows what's going to change and when. Other sources
typically (and certainly not reliably) don't get such info early.
2. there are predictable times for "increased likelihood" of product
updates based on past history. However, given the hardware situation
these days, historical information may not be reliable in this case.
3. My opinion (I didn't originate it, just thought it was good advice):
don't buy it until you need it. Then buy what you need and be happy with
it. I've owned two Powerbooks, and have been happy with both (niggles
here and there, but I'm a picky sort of person). I felt that I got my
money's worth out of the last one (4 years daily use, sometimes abuse,
of a Pismo400), and expect to do the same with my "new" Albook15".
fwiw.

Aww, not this again!
If you need a powerbook now, buy it. It will indeed continue to work
even after new powerbooks come out (contrary to what most people think
here... they think once the new powerbook comes out their "old" G4
powerbook will instantly cease to function).

There's a strong possibility that Apple might announce new Powerbooks
later this month. That being said, if you need a new Powerbook now, buy
it now. If you can wait, then wait. Trust me. No matter what and when
you buy, a faster and cheaper model will eventually come down the pick.

Looks to me like it's kinda late this month.
