The trick is I'm trying to schedule different times on different days
of the week.

Yeah, at one time I thought I'd want an alarm which would wake my Powerbook
too.
Then I thought some more, and remembered all those times my Powerbook was
riding in the back seat of my car, bouncing around in sleep mode.
Do I really want it to wake up and announce itself at that time (when I
probably won't hear it)?

I use this program --- Meridian.
http://www.recurringdream.com/Meridian.html
To use, leave your powerbook lid open, put the powerbook to sleep
manually, and Meridian will awaken your powerbook using alarm sounds or
your iTunes library.
If you have your lid closed, it will NOT awaken your powerbook, so you
don't burn it up in your back pack.
