Hi have a 2 usb G3 iBook.Problem is the charge circuit is duff.Works fine on
a charged battery but battery doesnt charge in the iBook(light is green all
the time).Tried another psu with same result. If I remove the battery it
doesnt power with the psu alone.I suspect the dc-in board. Can anyone point
me in the direction of a parts supplier(I have dismantled one previously)or
someone who can repair it at a sensible price?
TIA

Mine just did the same thing! Makes you wonder doesn't it? All I get on
my display telling me thaere's a battery problem is the little icon of
the bettery up in the menu bar with a big "X" in it. Did I leave it
plugged in too much?

One symptom I forgot to mention. The green light at the computer end
of the ac adapter cord was showing up green. Well, last night, as an
experiment, I took out the battery, let the computer sit for about 30
seconds and then put the bettery back in. I then plugged the adpter
cord in and voila! The light was now orange. Got up this monring and
had 100% charge! Yippee!

Nice result Don,your problem was obviously unlike mine.Mine has been
stripped for 2 days(no power supply or battery).Just tried it with same
result, indicator on dc jack still green(with or without battery
installed).Powers up on battery,totally dead on psu : (.

Dang, Mick! Hope you get it figured out without having to spend a ton
on replacement bits.
