Could someone point me to the direction (right?/left?) as to how I
could connect to the internet with my Powerbook 160? It works pretty
well, and it seems that at its prime someone was using Compuserve to go
online. I have access to bellsouth and att dialup. Someone told me once
that I had to get an old version of either IE or Netscape (I can't
remember which) and another couple of programs to do the trick. There
is a program in the powerbook that I can use to connect to a BBS type
connection, but I can't find a local BBS to test it with. I would very
much appreciate your advise. Thank you.

Your first problem is a lack of an Ethernet port leaving you with
dial-up or trying to find an Asante SCSI to Enet adapter (probably hard
to find now). Netscape up to 4.04 will work, 4.08 requires the CFM-68k
extension & I have had trouble with that. Personally, I would run iCab
2.9.8. Doesn't do CSS very well but is about as good as they get for 68k
Macs. Some V4 IE may work, but I have never used Exploder so I can't
tell. I assume you run System 7.5 in which case you'll want to make sure
you use MacTCP 2.06. OT will run but give you little benefit & you'll be
memory starved anyway (You did max out to 14 MB, right?).
For email, I used to use Eudora 3.13.

There's an old version of Netscape (1.X) that has a built-in
newsreader. I thought it was one of the best Netscape versions ever
released. You can probably get it at Jagshouse. There is also an old
version of Eudora that will work.

Now for the $64,000 question: How do I get these programs into my PB?
Do I look for a Mac with access to the internet with a floppy and then
copy stuff over or what?
