hello!
i have an iPod and i've been using a trasmitter to connect it to my
radio but i'm just getting so sick of listening to more static than
music.  I was wondering if there is a way of connection my iPod that
doesn't involve a transmitter.  I only have a stock radio and indash cd
player so i was wondering if there was some way i could hook up some
sort of cord to my stereo to connect to my ipod?  thanks!

Most likely there is not a practical way to do this. Consider replacing
your car's stereo with something from Alpine
<http://www.alpine-usa.com/> with an iPod-compatible interface

Depends on the car.  If you have a cassette player (I know you don't,
but for anyone else's benefit here), you can get a cassette adapter --
that's how mine's hooked up for now.   Another option, if your stereo
supports is, would be an adapter for a CD changer connection.  This is
what I'm considering for my Chrysler, as an example:

Perhaps there's something like that available for your car?

You might also want to investigate your question here; I can almost
*guarantee* it's already been addressed:

Hope that helps!

Me too. Works well. The iTrip is about only good for table top boom
boxes.

What about taking your iMac in the road and using those speakers?

If you have a audio cassette deck you may be able to rig something.

If you're getting static, try applying suppressors to the electrical
cables.

My iTrip sucks rocks. I got a NewerTech RoadTrip and prefer that. It's
very clear, but after setting the iPod volume to about 80% and a flat
EQ, I do have to up the volume a little on my stereo to get it to a
listenable level. I must remember to turn down the volume before
switching to CD or broadcast, or I'll get blown out of my seat. My car
does not have an interface kit available for it, and it's such a weird
shape, I'd have to make *major* mods to my dash to put in an
aftermarket stereo (2004 Nissan Quest). So the RoadTrip will have to
do. It plugs into a cigarette lighter port and has a 1/8" jack on the
other end. Tune the radio to 107.7, and the signal is clear as a bell.
