Good Day.
I've got a couple (dearly loved) ibooks (g3s, 700 & 800) that both bit the
dust over the holidays. I bought both used and don't have original
reciepts for either though their serial #s would seem to suggest that
they're amongst those recognized for, ahem, crap logic boards. Reading
this:
"The program covers affected iBooks for three years after the first retail
sale of the unit or until March 18, 2004, whichever provides longer
coverage for you. Apple will continue to evaluate the repair data and will
provide further repair extensions as needed."

I'm wondering if the program is still in effect? The 'extension document'
is dated some 8 months later than at least one of those deadlines...

hah. i guess apple's copy editors are on the ball.
it expired december 18, 2004, and was then extended three months. that
*should* read 2005.
take it to an apple store and they'll fix it. you lucked out. :)
