Problems opening iBook CDROM drive

My dual USB iBoook has problems opening its CDROM drive after an eject.  It
usually just clicks a couple of times and remains closed.  If I pull on the
drive while it's clicking, I can manually open it (and, of course, the
paperclip trick works).  Looks to me like a hardware problem (spring,
latch, etc.).  But I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem
and come up with a fix?

Thanks.

I've experienced the same thing when I first bought my 12"ibook in 2001,
but not in the past a couple of years--it must have worked itself loose.
I essentialy just put up with it.
