The white brick power adapter for my PBG4 has failed, or at least the
light is out and a voltmeter shows no voltage output.

Can I temporarly replace it with my G3 Wallstreet Yoyo adapter while I
get a replacement for the white brick? Both seem to have the same
voltage output, tho the yoyo has less current out.

Apple advises against using the older 45W adapters with newer machines.
See <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=88231>. I don't
think it will cause any permanent damage, but the G4's higher current
demands might trip the circuit breaker in the old adapter.

You can get compatible third-party adapters that beat Apple's in
features, sturdiness, and price.

Aren't the connectors on the two adapters different sizes? Other than
that, you've already heard about using a 45W power source on a 65W
machine. It might deplete the battery while running. It will charge the
battery just fine, so long as you're not pulling more juice than it's
supplying.
