Hi all

I am posting this message to see if someone out there can help with my
problem.

To start off here are the details of computer.
iBook 500mhz
MacOS 10.3.5
640mb SDRAM

Now on to my problem.

To start off my laptop LCD display seems to be darker than it should
be. It looks like it is about ready to go to sleep. It does this event
at start-up. It has been doing this for the last 5 or 6 days. This
makes it hard to see what is on the display. Right now it is not a big
deal, as I have my laptop connected to an external display.

Next I am having a problem with the keyboard. That is with the
F12/eject button are not working. Not sure how long this has been
going on, as most times I have the laptop connected to full size
keyboard and mouse. First noticed this issue yesterday, when I was
going to install some recently purchased software. No way to install
if I can not open the tray for the optical drive.

Last this is the track-pad button is not working at all. I say this,
as you can not use it to click on anything or select something. This
has not been working for the past 1 or maybe a little less, as seem to
work okay yesterday morning.

Most of the above mentioned problems are really only problems when I
am not at my desk. Are problems when i am on the road or away form me
desk with the laptop. I noticed these issues this past week while on
vacation in Chicago.

Was hoping someone would have some sort of solution, rather than
taking my laptop into the shop. Please reply, if can be of any help to
me.

Thanks
M. Graham

Have you pressed F1 recently? (decrease Brightness)

Some pref somewhere? Giving priority to external keyboard?
Ah, was F6 used? (Num lock, with a green light, unlikely though)

Search group for keyboard problems;

Argh!
Maybe the keyboard cable, but more likely to be software, or pref.

What event co-incides with this?
Did you disconnect screen, without shutting down?
