I bought my 15" Powerbook G4 about a year ago and didnt have a problem
until now. My CD drive just won't accept any kind of CD that I put in.
I was going to fix it and get a new CD drive. One day I put in one of
the Audio CD and it worked! later on, I ejected it and put it back
again, it didnt read it again. I tried different kind of CDs and it
makes some noices as if the CD Drive is too loose to read a CD. Can
somebody help me please? I don't want to risk changing the CD drive
but turns out that there's still a chance for my original CD drive to
be working. One more thing..i made a stupid mistake...I dont have the
Apple Care...which going to cost me a lot of money to get a new CD
Drive...starving student needs help here...desperately...HELP!!! thank
you

What about using one of those head cleaner disks?
Yonius Saritoh - 30 Aug 2004 00:16 GMT
I'm having trouble using my CD Drive AGAIN! I tried to clean it with
the head cleaners, it worked! for 2 days! and now it's not workin
again. Everytime I insert a CD it ejects it right away. It made a
sound as if the CD Drive can't read it. I tried to put the head
cleaner CD again but this time, it ejects it! Do any of you guys know
what seems to be the problem here?

I had similar with the superdrive in my 12" PB. It got crankier and
then died -went into perma-spit-disk. Apple fixed it on warranty very
efficiently.
