Instead of the old organ-note sound at start-up, my Wallstreet just
makes a rapid clicking sound and doesn't start.
It was working fine for a couple of days with a new hard drive and new
install of OS 10.2.8 (previously running 9.2) Then I shut it down and
moved to a different place in the house. I plugged in the power brick
and went to restart, but heard no sound.
I notice if I hold down the power key I get a clicking sound; fast if
I'm using the power brick, slower with the battery. In time with the
clicks I can see a faint flash on the edges of the dark screen.
Can anybody HE'P me??!!
Please let me know if these symptoms mean something to you. I'll be very
grateful if you can suggest some way I can get this machine going again.
Thanks much

Reset Power Manager. There's a recipe on the back of the PB,
but I believe it's Control+fn+Shift+Power Key. This usually
fixes mine when this happens.

Usually, but on a maxed-out machine, this clicking is an indication of the
Power Manager board itself being overloaded.
Reduce the RAM and plug-ins as needed to get the machine to reliably start
every time, then work back up.
This never happens with my /233 WS IIs, but happens very frequently on my /300
WS IIs.
