I was looking at memory products on smalldog.com, and they
offer both a 1GB DIMM and an SO-DIMM. Both are PC2700
DDR 333. Will either of these work in a 12" powerbook, and
are there any power consumption differences between the
two? Also, are there any comments on the Corsair, Geil
Golden Dragon, or Patriot memory products and their
compatibility with powerbooks? Thanks.

DIMMs (dual inline memory modules) are for desktop machines; SO-DIMMs
are Small Outline DIMMs and are the ones you need for a PowerBook.
Can't comment on the brands, no idea sorry. Except to say that Apple
machines are finicky about RAM; if SmallDog are selling them I would
expect them to choose brands which work in Apple machines. Power
consumption for RAM is negligible; the power eaters are the HDD, optical
drive, CPU and screen backlight.
