Been reading posts (mainly on MacNN) about some (sounds like not all
have the problem) of the screens on the new Powerbook 12" G4 (is it
called Rev C?).
I'm considering buying a PB 12 G4 and would prefer the 12" size to the
15" but concerned with the number of negative comments about the screen.
Any tips for a potential buyer?
Thanks.

I just purchased a 15" 1.5 GHZ powerbook and love it. I was not
real happy with the screen of the 12", but each person has different
requirements.

What negative comments have been made? I have the 1 GHz 12" Powerbook &
think my screen is fine. There is a somewhat limited vertical angular
range, but that's about all I could criticize.

OP back to answer above question:
As mentioned in my original post, most of the posts that I've read on
12" screen issue were in MacNN forums. The threads are pretty obvious by
titles.
I recently looked at 12" vs 15" at Apple Store and noted vertical range
issue you mention but otherwise I couldn't tell much difference between
12" and 15" FWIW.

I have an original Rev A 867 mhz 12", I've never had any issues with the
screen on mine. I can't comment on the Rev C I haven't seen one in stores to
compare them. But I assume the screen quality would be the same. As for size
I certainly love my 12, very light and portable especially for traveling. Or
if you're not on the go you can go what I did, buy an external apple
keyboard plug it in along with an external monitor and use it as a
'desktop'.
The only minor issue I have is the known 'wobble', but pushing down on the
two corners lightly levels it out. So for a 1 second fix it doesn't bother
me, some have said it's not the PB but the surface it's on. I haven't tested
that theory out though. I certainly have no regrets buying mine.

welcome change from the world of blue screens & viruses. I can't complain
the more people that continue to use Windows the more money I make :-).
