HI,
Ive been thinking about purchasing a new  Powerbook  to replace my
desktop G3.  ive noticed that the display on the Powerbook is far
inferior than that of an external monitor. Im guessing this is to do
with Powerbook display and nothing to do with the graphics card.
Can i expect the same screen quality im used to on my G3 desktop when
using a powerbook to drive my 21 inch trinitron.
thanks
Jon

My 15" AlBook 1GHz has an ATI Radeon 9600 64MB with DVI out.  That
processor/graphics RAM combo should be enough to power most anything.  I
run it on a 21" Trinitron at home at 1280x1024 and have had it up to
1600x1200 (Just didn't like things so small).  It's not bad, but
certainly not as clear as the LCD.  I may blame that on the DVI to VGA
adapter though.  I can't really say, because I haven't had time to debug
the problem.  Could be a poorly shielded cable, my KVM (no prob on the
other PC though), or something else.

Not much, but I hope it helps.  Will post more when I get the time to go
through it thoroughly.
