HELP!

I'm helping a friend upgrade from OS9 to OS/X.

In the process we Drag/drop copied everything from his HD to an
external HD. Installed OS X. Classic.

On the external HD that we copied everything to, the folder "Main
Identity" contains:  Database, Database Cache, Mailing Lists, Messages,
Rules, Schedules, Signatures.  The DB and Messages are 2.5 and 43.4 MB
respectively.

When I bring up OE it doesn't see his info, nor can I get OE to see
either the Database or Messages ... ergo... can't move his mail or
anything to the new environment.  

I've now given up struggling and hope that SOMEONE can help me save my
butt on this one.

I've looked for tools, etc. found nothing. If i double click on eitgher
Database or Messages OE opens a new mail message. Also all of his
settings have disappeared and since I have no clue where to look, I've
not been able to find them. I have everything that was on his HD under
OS9 on the external drive.

I'm about as frustrated as I think I can get.    PLEASE!!! HELP ME!
