Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

I have installed Office 08 home and student edition. While logged under the admin user everything works fine but when I log into the other user ID Word will not work properly. It open with some weird layout and everytime you move the window it drags and copies itself...very odd.

The other programs, excel, ppt, etc seem to work fine on both user log ins but not word. I have tried reinstalling it 3 times to reach the same result. Please help.

First & Foremost: Reinstalling complex apps such as Office is *never* the
first step to correcting a problem & rarely is it a part of the corrective
process. In fact, it can make matters worse & even cause other issues. In
those cases where it is necessary it is only effective if a proper Remove
Office is done first & then all pertinent updates need to be applied
afterward. Applications seldom go bad & the files that do go bad aren't
changed/fixed/removed by reinstalling, so at best it's a waste of time.

That is especially true here since all works in the other User Account... If
the software were at fault the issue would be universal across all users, so
the problem is specific to the account exhibiting the behavior. In order to
determine which direction to look it would be most helpful to know what the
exact update level of both OS X & Office [xx.xx.xx].

What you describe is suggestive of what can happen if that account is using
the Spaces feature in an earlier version of Leopard, but the 10.5.7 update
reportedly corrected [most of] those issues. If Spaces is being used does
turning it Off make the problem go away? Make sure both Office & OS X are
fully updated, run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions, then see if the
problem continues. If it does, reply in detail (confirming the updating) for
other suggestions.

OS X 10.5.7
Office 12.1.0

I installed all updates but to no luck. I am not sure what the Spaces feature is that you speak of. When logged in under one user everything still works fine but when I log out of that one and into the other, no good. As soon as you open Word in opens in print layout but looks different. The page is all the way at the top and you cannot type. If you switch the draft you can type. Totally lost.
