Your installation of Office needs to be updated. Locate the AutoUpdate app
that was installed into your Applications folder & run it to download/apply
the updates beginning with 11.3.5 on through 11.4.0 - Did you not get a
prompt about updating during the installation?

If you receive a framework error, re-apply recent updates. A framework error
normally means one or more components of Office have not been updated
correctly and are now out of synch with other bits.

I had the same message when I had 2004, that's why I upgraded to 2008. Call Microsoft and verify your product key. The CD might not be in English, but something different. Mine was Japanese.
