I may have found a work around I found a program that will decode the .cab
files. I will be buying office 2008, hopefully it allows windows templates
to be used on a mac.
Thanks for your help though, the program that I found is filejuicer, doesn't
do every file but it gets enough for me.

Yes, they should be fine, provided the templates do not contain any VBA (or:
Do not need the VBA they contain).
Mac Office 2008 will silently ignore VBA in Windows files.

you would like, I will download them on PC, open them and save them as
dot file and put them on net for you. But please give me some time to
do that.
