Office 2004 - Lost Serial Number

I have recently moved to Venezuela. After six months of waiting for
our container, it arrived and due to how transport was, I have had to
reformat drives and install everything fresh.
I cannot find our serial numbers anywhere. I originally bought a five
pack regular...not educational version. Can anybody tell me how to
remedy this situation?
Thanks!

This site is run by volunteers who share their knowledge for mutual benefit
-- not by Microsoft. None of the "regulars" has had any experience like
yours as far as I know. So you'd best contact Microsoft for advice. Maybe it
would help if you have registered your software (just guessing here).

If the worst comes to the worst your best bet, probably, would be to buy a
licensed second-hand copy of Office 2004 on eBay. They are quite cheap.

re-visiting the newsgroup for several days after the first response comes
in. Sometimes it takes a few responses before the best or complete solution
is provided; sometimes you'll be asked for further information. Good tips
about getting the best out of posting are at

blank page and have to hit the circular arrow icon -- "Reload the current

It won't. Registration just gives one the opportunity to subscribe to an
eNewsletter.

It's a marketing thing...

The serial numbers are stuck to the back of the CD case on a bright orange
sticker.

If you have the serial numbers, you can put the correct numbers in using the
tehnique John explains here:
http://www.mcgimpsey.com/macoffice/office/pid.html

If you do not have the serial numbers, then you need to contact Microsoft,
and supply the name and address that you registered the software under.  If
that matches the records in the Microsoft database, chances are they will
sell you a replacement CD at a sharply reduced rate.  If the address doesn't
match, or you didn't register, then the only thing you can do is buy a new
copy.

Cheers

You can start here:
See here to find out how to get a new CD Key, assuming you have a
