Hi, I can't get Office for Mac to install on my new Macbook, it worked
fine with Powerbook G4 and I'm sure I have an install left on the
Teacher and Student edition.

I put the disk in and it opens up.
Option1 is to double click on the setup assistant.
If i do this it bounces a few times in the dock and then disappears.
A couple of times it bounced for ages and the CD wirred but it never
loaded.

Option2 is copy the folder to the mac.
Again i do this. Then click to open word for example and it bounces
two or three times in the dock and then vanishes.

I have used office remover to ensure that the trial version is gone
and have tried complete wipe and then install a number of times.

I have tried resetting the PIN using the option key and office remover
but this didnt help.

I cant understand the problem, its not letting me enter my code, it
wont let me do anything and the forums ive read dont seem to have any
similar problems.

Can anyone help???

Chris

You might need to download the combo updater from Apple and run it again
rather than using Software Update. Doing so overwrites potentially
problem-causing files. Several users have reported this fixed some odd
problems they were having with Entourage.

The combo update installer updates Mac OS X 10.4, 10.4.1, 10.4.2, 10.4.3,
10.4.4, 10.4.5, 10.4.6, 10.4.7, or 10.4.8 to 10.4.9.

Mac OS X 10.4.9 Combo Update (PPC)

Mac OS X 10.4.9 Combo Update (Intel)

If that doesn't work you will need to do an Archive & Install of the OS.  Be
sure to select the "Preserve User and Network Settings" option to preserve
your current Users folder and related network configuration.
