How to end a project

Can anyone please tell me how I can close off a project so that the
files do not continue to be added to a project? I use colour labels on
my files for all sorts of identification purposes. Now I find that
green coloured files are being associated with and listed for the
proejct that I had long finsihed and put away, just because I had
chosen a green colour scheme for that project in the first place. The
files are not relevant to that project. They are got there because they
happened to be labelled green too!

Hi May,

I don't really know why it isn't possible to mark a project as completed; it
seems like a such an obvious thing to do. You can always request that
feature by clicking on Send Feedback On Entourage in Entourage's Help menu.

As for the automatic association of items to projects: in your project's
Properties menu (i.e. the couple of screens you go through to set up a
project), you can specify criteria to make Entourage add specific items to a
project. These criteria are rules, as a matter of fact, so if you open your
older projects and remove these criteria, your newer items should no longer
show up in these older projects. Your older items will not lose their
categories and project association; this simply prevents newer items from
getting added to these projects.
