I downloaded update 11.2.4 and get a message that it can't find the
necessary files to do the upgrade. I tried to trash all the
preferences, and repaired permissions. Any other suggestions?

*11.2.4* ? - I don't even remember that one, and it isn't on the downloads
site (although 11.2.3 isn't either).

None the less, bypass it altogether. Download the 11.2.5 updater form here:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx

It will catch you up on prior updates, then d/l 11.2.6 from the same site.

BTW - what are you updating *from*? I ask because some have attempted to use
the v.11 _updates_ in order to *upgrade* from Office v.X - that just won't
work.

I tried to update from 11.2.5 first, when it said it couldn't find the
necessary files I read the "readme" and it said 11.2.4 was needed
first. I have 11.2.3 installed,and it is Office 2004.

First, try downloading the 11.2.5 update from the site I gave you the link
for & see if that makes a difference. make sure *no* Office programs are
running when you attempt the install.

What version of OS X?
