I recently updated my office software to version 11.2.3 and now the
only file I have on my computer that is truely critical is corrupted
and opens as gibberish!

It was password protected and now (since updating) it doesn't even ask
for the password and simply opens the file with a message stating "file
not loaded completely".  I suspect that it is somehow still encrypted
and needs the password but Excel doesn't ask anymore.

I NEED a way to get back my file.  Please help!

As an extra note:

I just noticed that there was a log for the 11.2.4 update in the Office
folder yet the About screen in Excel shows Office Version: 11.2.3.  To
add to the confusion I just tried to reupdate with 11.2.4 (downloaded
from MS) and after completing the update it still shows 11.2.3 as the
version....

I can't help much with the corruption issue, but Excel was not updated with
the 11.2.4 update. That's why it still shows 11.2.3 (060209).
