All that has been said publicly is that the next release will be a Universal
binary, and will support the new xml file format in Office 2007. Beyond
that, all is speculation, but I would expect the MacBU to take the good
things from the O07 interface and produce something that is mac-centric
rather than a windows port (word 6 got into terrible trouble as a windows
port, although the silver lining was that that debacle led fairly directly
to the forming of the Macintosh Business Unit in MS).
