When I try to open a word document, powerpoint, excel spreadsheet, etc... I get the same error message, "This operation could not be completed". If I then open the correct application (e.g. word) and then try to open a document, it works fine. Could someone help... why isn't the application opening automatically? and how can I correct this? Thanks for your help! Hello, Reading through, I gather that the error message is not coming from Office apps . It is probably a problem in the launch services. You can try the following and I think it will work : 1.
