Trouble installing Office Mac

I just received a copy of Microsoft Office Mac (Home Use Program) for
my new iMac G5.   When I try to install, I receive an error that "data
can not be read from PMingLiU.ttf (Error Code 36)."   This prevents me
from using any of the programs.

I've searched Microsoft.com for common errors, but can't find this one.

Can someone help or tell me what I need to do?

Thank you so much.

Hi Kimberly -

That error code usually indicates a faulty installation disk. If you can,
try it on another system/drive for confirmation, as it could be a faulty
drive (but unlikely).

If you purchased it locally, return it for an exchange or contact the vendor
if you bought on line. They may have a software exchange policy. Otherwise,
take a look at

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;326246

where you should find the necessary info to go about obtaining a
replacement.
