Install Office without Entourage?

I am thinking of getting a Mac later this year, and since it is the
only office suite available I'm going to get Office Mac 2004 (the
student version, as I'll be at university) at the same time. But
without Spotlight, Entourage will not be much use to me (and I don't
have any real use for the Project Center) so is there any way to
install the rest of Office without installing Entourage?

The Office Install is drag-and-drop. You could simply exclude Entourage or
trash it after the fact. I don't *think* this would cause any problems.

That said, unless you're at a real crunch for disk space, there's no harm in
leaving it on the drive and simply not using it.

Apart from the drag-and-drop method, there is also the option of doing a
customised install with the help of an installer. I would have recommended
that second option anyway, as it gives you more control over what components
of Office are going to be installed (such as additional spell-checking
languages etc.). During the process, you will be asked which programs you
want to install, and that's where you can untick the checkbox next to
"Microsoft Entourage" if you really don't want to have it.
That being said, I have to agree with Adam, unless you're really running low
on disk space, there's no harm in having Entourage sit in your Office
folder; who knows, you might even grow to like it.
