I have a 1.67 alum powerbook5,6 running os X.3.8.
using office 2004  (11.0) every time I type the letter "e" by itself in
word, entourage, excel; the software changes it to the letter "a".
does anyone else have this problem?
what can be done to fix?

thank you

In Word, say, choose Tools/Autocorrect. Delete the entry that replaces e
with a.

Close all Office apps. When you reopen, your problem should have gone
away.

works great thanks,
why is there in the first place?

Could anybody have put it in there as a joke?  It's not there by default, as
I don't see it in mine.

By the way, if you are using Office 11.0, there are 11.1 and 11.1.1 updates
out there.

It's not, by default. Perhaps someone was playing a joke on you?

Or perhaps you hit AutoCorrect by mistake in a Spelling dialog?
