Office 2004 not installing correctly

Awhile ago I posted that I was having install problems.

I followed the MVP procedure for uninstalling Office, and I uninstalled the
software.  The odd thing was that Office 2004 was still there!  So I deleted
it and went from there.

When I use the Install Assistant, I does not install.  I hit "finish" at the
end of the install, but no Office 2004!

Using the drag and drop method sort of works.  The one problem I see is that
I have no ability to spell and grammar check.  There might be others.

I also get an error -39 saying the German Dictionary cannot be installed
using the drag and drop.

I'm getting desperate and appreciate any help.

I'm running OS 10.3.9.

I am having the same problem as Nathan.

I just received the student/teacher edition of Office today. Both the
Install Assistant and drop and drag method stop on an Entourage file
called PNingLiU.tff. I believe this is a font. (My error is -36.)

I tried to custom install. I unchecked Entourage, but during
installation the program continued to install anyway.

Help! I'm running 10.4.1

My error could have been -36 too.

Sorry you're having this trouble.  I too have the S&T Edition.

I am not having and trouble with Entourage thankfully.

Actually, this one--and it sounds like it applies to Nathan too--is a known
error--apparently there's a bad bunch of Student/Teacher CDs out there.
Call MS and get them to send you another CD.  Somewhere in the package
perhaps there is a number for installation support? People have reported
this before, so it ought to be a known issue in their database--details:
stopping on that particular font, the error number, and student/teacher
edition.
