Yes. Any previous version of Office Mac, in fact any single application like
Word 98, is entitled to the Upgrade price to Office 2004.

Usually just inserting the Office 98 CD while you launch the installer
works. Since you can't have two CDs in at the same time, maybe best drag the
Microsoft Office 2004 folder from the 2004 CD to your hard disk Applications
folder, remove that CD, insert the 98 CD. then launch Word 2004 and follow
the instructions for the upgrade.

I never heard of "Microsoft Office Standard" but - who knows - maybe that's
what they called it. You're sure it's an official Microsoft CD? Not a
