Re: Sending email. Everything works fine with Outlook
Express BUT when I select send/receive message my
computer freezes. I have reinstalled Outlook, trashed
preferences, called server tech support but so far
nothing has worked.
Any ideas?

Delete all messages from your Outbox, and then compact the database as
below...
<http://homepage.ntlworld.com/techie.grim/keyboard/oe5_database.html>
Also try to assign a bit more memory to the OE application...

Give it another whirl and see what happens.

Ricky, I have been fighting this same battle for a long time. I have
followed your suggestions and keep compacting the database but, after two or
three sessions, the computer crashes again when I try to send. Now I realize
that I have the memory for OE5.06 set at 16000 K and the app is up to 15.7
MB in size. Running 9.2.2, should I:
increase the memory even more?
to what?
should I trash all those good things I am storing to cut the app down the
size?
Many thanks for all your good advice.

Yes, I would repeat my usual advice here which is to compact the database
and increase the memory allocation (within reason).
